Cypremort Yacht Club
Welcome to the Cypremort Yacht Club, a small but active club nestled on Vermilion Bay in South Louisiana. Our clubhouse faces west into Vermilion Bay, so sunset watching from our balcony is a favorite activity. Membership is inexpensive, and gives you full use of all club facilities.

We have several "dry slips" on site, as well as wet slips with water and electricity, and a private ramp for members' use only. No fighting crowds!

Socials are held monthly, and are inexpensive (usually $10 per person, sometimes less).

See? The Cypremort Yacht Club is the best-kept secret in Acadiana!

November Social and General meeting.

I'd like to thank all the racers that participated in the Fall series this year.   West Marine provided some very nice prizes for the drawings at each race.

The racing was close in A fleet with only one point separating First and Second place.  Mark Milam, in his Holder 20 took First place with 8 points.  Barney Dupuis, in his Catalina 22 took Second place with 9 points and Charlie Jagneaux, in his Santana 30, took Third place with 10 points.    Barry Innes, sailing "Legend",  was plagued with a broken rudder in one race and a broken Jib halyard in another race.

The racing in B fleet was just as close with one point separating First and Second Place.   Bill Butts took First place with 8 points, followed by John Conner with 9 points.   Mark Van Eaton,  was third  with 16 points,  followed by Butch Leger with 20 pints and Hank Cowen in his beautiful Suncat,  with 23 points.

The Fall regatta was combined with the last two races of the Series,  race 5 being a makeup race.  We had 9 Boats register for the fall regatta and special thanks goes out to Al Rees on the Committee boat.   The Racing was again Close and down to the last race.   Charlie Jagneaux won the Regatta with 3 points.  Barney Dupuis was Second with 4 points and Mark Milam was Third with 5 points.

Trophies were handed out for the Fall Regatta, after the race.   Trophies for the A and B fleet series races for the Spring and Fall series, will be handed out at the Christmas party on Dec. 12th

The Protest was resolved and will help strengthen our club's policy on notifications before a race is abandoned due to bad weather.  I want to thank all participants that were involved with the protest.

We want to encourage everyone with a sailboat,  to come out and race next year,  even if you've never raced before!!  Its always a good excuse, just to go sailing.

Mark Milam

Race committee chairman

Social was a big success with a wonderful meal cooked by Tammy and Renee and music by Karl.
