SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
for CYC 2010 Spring Series

 
1 RULES

The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS) published by US Sailing Association, the By-Laws of the Gulf Yachting

Association's Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) at www.gya-phrf.com, and these Sailing Instructions (SI) for

the Cypremort Yacht Club (CYC) will govern this Spring Series of races.


2 RACE MANAGEMENT

The CYC Race Committee Chairman will designate a Principal Race Officer (PRO) for each race.


3 NOTICES TO COMPETITORS INCLUDING CHANGES TO SI

3.1 Except for changes to SI 4 SCHEDULE FOR RACES, the Race Committee will post notices on the Official Notice

Board (ONB) located in CYC's clubhouse no later than 1000 hours on the day notices take effect.

3.2 The Race Committee may put off until later a date or time scheduled in SI 4 and shall post change int the "Announcements" on the Cypremort Yacht Club Home Page no later than 1600 hours on day preceding date scheduled in SI 4.


4 SCHEDULE FOR RACES

4.1 One race is planned each Saturday.
4.2 At 1000 hours on race day in CYC clubhouse the PRO will conduct a Skippers' Meeting.

4.3 The start will be 1100 hours Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) time unless postponed as allowed by SI 5.1.


5 VISUAL SIGNALS

5.1 The PRO may opt to conduct the race per RRS 26, 27 and 29 and from a race committee boat.

5.2 Signals made ashore will be from the west side of the clubhouse's upper deck.


6 COURSE

At the Skippers' Meeting the PRO will designate the course and its mark(s) and post them on the ONB.


7 RACING AREA

CYC Race Map shows the racing area in Vermilion Bay, the location of CYC on Cypremort Point, and also the location of objects to serve as marks of the course.


8 MARKS

8.1 The PRO will select 1 or 2 or 3 objects identified CYC Race Map to serve as marks for the course.

8.2 Those objects are in the following table from the CYC Race Map identified in SI 7.
